Still Learning
A strand about teachers staying learners themselves, and what being a beginner again teaches us about the classroom.
Most of what we ask students to do, we stopped doing ourselves a long time ago. We rarely sit with genuine confusion, rarely practice something we are visibly bad at, rarely depend on scaffolding to get through a task. Still Learning is the strand where that gets put right.
The essays here follow the experience of learning something new as an adult, and read it back against teaching: what recognition and recall actually feel like from the inside, why a good prompt matters more than a good explanation, where scaffolding helps and where it quietly takes over the thinking. The aim is not to turn the site into a study-tips blog. It is to keep the teaching grounded in the experience of learning.
The first essays in this strand are in development. In the meantime, the thinking behind them runs through the rest of the site.
